Supporting Your Library

Get involved!

Friends of the Library
Friends of the Library are people who join in supporting and promoting the library. This support takes many forms: volunteering, advocating for the library, and donating time and/or money to help the library achieve its goals. We meet annually in May.

The library is very dependent on the financial support of our community and friends. We hope you will consider joining us—we need your expertise and energy!

Friends of the Library members pay a nominal annual (July-June) fee: $5 for adults, $1 for youth (under 18), and $20 for groups.

Please join us by using this Friends of the Library Membership Form. You can mail it to us, drop it in the book return box after hours, or stop in the library–we’d love to see you!

Volunteering
Volunteers are always needed at the library. Options include working at the circulation desk, processing new library materials, helping with reading programs, sorting and helping with book sales, and more!

If you think you’d like to help, we’d love to hear from you! Please call the library at 864-8978 or stop by to talk about your interests.

Donating Materials
The library gratefully accepts donations of books and library materials in good condition, especially recent publications. We cannot accept damaged or musty-smelling books, condensed books, old reference sets, textbooks, or magazines.

Individuals wishing to make larger donations should call ahead to make arrangements and verify that the library is currently accepting materials of the type they have to offer.

Donations are accepted with the understanding that they may be sold by the Friends of the Library or discarded.

Please refer to the complete information on Gifts and Donations contained in the library’s Collection Development Policy. A copy of the complete policy is available upon request.
